This spring’s hairstyles have an element of aquatic fantasy. Soft waves, aqueous colors, saltwater texture, and wet-look finishes give an oceanic twist to the season’s looks. There are lots of ways to wear this trend and all of them will pair beautifully with the season pretty pastels and loosely cut shapes. Wet Look: To get half-dry texture that last all day apply a liberal amount of hair gel throughout strands and style in desired shape with fingers or comb. Add a light mist of healing oil for shine and softness and allow strands to dry naturally.
Soft Waves: After showering, apply a quarter of hair creme throughout strands, working from tips to roots. Braid into a few smallish plaits (anywhere from 3-10 depending on desired look) and allow to dry completely. Remove braids, coat hands in shine spray and shake through lengths to soften and separate.
Saltwater Texture: Apply a mixture of texture paste and styling whip to strands before drying, working the mixture through from roots to ends. Style as desired. Spritz refinish dry shampoo throughout the style to add fullness and a matte finish.
Aquatic Color: Use hair chalk to add temporary streaks of lilac, sea foam or periwinkle, applying the shades in loose, organic patterns. For a long-lasting version, ask your colorist about creating long-lasting, damage-free pastel hues with Goldwell Elumen color.
