Being @KrystalSimpson in Club Monaco
Dec 22, 2012 - by Fashion Indie
I channel blogger, poet and reality star Krystal Simpson in this week's "being", a new weekly series in which I play fashion chameleon and try to match the style of some of my favorite industry characters.
I hope I didn't eff it up.
Krystal Simposon of What is Reality Anyway, is one blogger which I've been following for years. A girl with a gift for layering in sunny California, Krystal's looks always incorporate some sort of statement jacket.
For my take on her style, I wore a Moschino Cheap & Chic sequined tuxedo jacket over a Marc by Marc Jacobs denim shirt [Available at Marc Jacobs, $198]. I added a Club Monaco Marianna skirt [Available at Club Monaco, $198] to the look, my own take, since Krystal often wears pants in her style posts. I paired the look with a few statement accessories, like Swarovski Stone rings [Available at Swarovski, $170], a vintage Camel pendant I grabbed from Brooklyn Flea, a stacked bead necklace and a Dolce & Gabbana handbag. The shoes are Belle by Sigerson Morrison [Available at BelleNYC, $295], a recent gift by the brand.
I wore this Krystal Simpson-inspired look to Laurel Touby's Fash Bash, a holiday party she hosted to bring together some of her fashion friends. Her niece is looking to make a career for herself in the industry, and the event was a way for her to start making connections. I invited fellow blogger, Linsey Calla of Saucy Glossie to the party and we hung out on a $30,000 swing, which sat nearly in the center of the room. I was in complete awe of Laurel's place, so inspiring.
So did I properly channel Krystal Simpson? Tell me in the comments.
