Hair Accessories get a Makeover for Spring

Hair accessories are great to have as part of your wardrobe. They get the random strands of hair off your face or pull your locks off your neck when it’s too hot. And while I love them for their utilitarian purposes, sometimes their too sweet designs leave you feeling like a little girl instead of a chic girl about town. Luckily, hair accessories got a touch of toughness this season. Biker-inspired designs include studs and spikes that kill the sweetness, giving you the spirit of rebellion. Below are a few great options for trying this trend on, whatever you choose you’ll be pointedly in the know….

1. Give a classic ponytail an element of surprise by topping it off with a spikey headband like the Cone-Stud Spike Headband from BCBG. Just sweep your hair back into a slick pony and slide on. It also looks great with a messy chignon.

2. For a more haute approach, try Headcase Studded Turban from NastyGal.com. Looks great on second day hair or if you want to hide a bad hair day.

3. Ease your way into the trend with hairpins or studded barrettes from Franceluxe.com.
