Who has been to Coachella? Growing up in LA has made the desert music festival an annual springtime holiday for friends of mine since we were in high school, but especially in recent years it has become a hugely commercial event for the fashion industry. Everyone seems to love the summery, bohemian vibe of the festival and especially the clothes that go with it (I swear Planet Blue sells out of all their crop tops by literally mid-March) and lots of brands host festival-themed events. Sazan and I drove up to Palm Springs last weekend to check it out and go to a few parties, and I knew I wanted to wear something special besides the standard shorts and tank situation. Enter this romper – love at first sight!
I’m obsessed with the whole Camilla collection – all the colors, unique prints, and embellishments are right up my alley. I can’t wait to add a kaftan from the line to my collection for this summer. I stayed cool all day in the sun and ended up trading in my sandals for a comfortable pair of leather booties (if I was there all weekend, I would have worn booties from the start – I don’t recommend walking in the sand and grass in open-toed heels).
It’s not Coachella without some layered jewelry so I chose two gold necklaces to accent the neutrals of the romper. I wanted to pile on a couple more layers, but in near-100 degree heat there’s only so much you want on your skin! Check out some of my favorite festival-inspired pieces below and let me know what you think.
